If reports are to be believed, a new Ford GT supercar will be introduced at the Detroit Motor Show 2015 in just over a week. Some pretty fine examples of the previous Ford GT are still available however and a near-new unit will be going under the hammer at the Russo and Steele Scottsdale Auction from January 14-18th.
Despite being a 2005 model, this Ford GT has travelled a mere 900 miles from new. Additionally, it has had just one owner and has been permanently stored in a garage and has never been subjected to rain or water. The car is finished in a shining shade of silver and features black racing stripes and could quite conceivably become the most expensive Ford GT sold at auction.
In January last year, a bright red example which also had just one owner and had travelled 5100 miles since new, sold for $225,500. With less than a fifth of the miles under its belt, don’t be surprised if this Ford GT sells for around the $300,000 mark.
Beneath the skin, it is of course fitted with the potent 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine of all standard GTs. That powertrain develops 550 hp and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels.
