Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control also availavle
Honda has released detailed information and new photos about the facelifted Euro-spec CR-V SUV.Introduced during the Paris Motor Show last year, the vehicle comes with a new 1.6-liter diesel unit with 160 HP (118 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque that replaces the old 2.2-liter i-DTEC diesel. The producer says it “delivers outstanding performance and low CO2 emissions” when fitted with a four-wheel drive and a newly developed 9-speed automatic gearbox, ensuring “one of the best power-to-consumption ratio of any engine on sale today”.
The front-wheel-drive variants of the CR-V are powered by a 120 HP (88 kW) version of the same engine that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The 2015 CR-V also premieres Honda’s new Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) system, capable of predicting and automatically reacting to other vehicles ‘cutting-in’ to the vehicle’s lane. Based on “extensive real-world research of typical European driving styles”, the system uses a camera and a radar to sense the position of other vehicles on the road. It then “applies an algorithm to predict the likelihood of vehicles in neighboring lanes cutting-in”.
The facelifted CR-V will be offered with the all-new Honda Connect in-car audio and information system that comes with DAB/FM/AM and internet radio, Bluetooth connectivity, internet browsing, satellite navigation and rear-view parking camera.
