Zagato Celebrates 95th Anniversary With Museum Exhibit And Accompanying Coffee Table Book

Fewer double-bubble roofs than you're probably expecting.

2014 marked the 95th anniversary of Zagato, the Milan-based coachbuilding firm responsible for some of the most beautiful, and subsequently most valuable, versions of many different cars over the years. The Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Turin has decided to celebrate this milestone with a special exhibit, featuring nine different cars from the firm's history, with the oldest being an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Testafissa Zagato from the 1920's.
The rest of the cars are more recent, and most are significantly more recent, with four dating from 2011, including 2014's Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato. And for those who simply could not get enough from the exhibit, there is a forthcoming book, titled “Zagato Milano 1919-2014”, a compilation of work by various contributors and published by Motorbooks. It will be published on January 1 and retail for $75 in the US. The museum exhibit runs through March, but even if you miss it, you should still visit. It's one of the best car museums in the world.
