2017 Nissan GT-R Hits NYIAS

2017 Nissan GT R 0 600x357 at 2017 Nissan GT R Hits NYIAS
As promised, Nissan revealed a new version of its GT-R sports car at the New York Auto Show. And as expected, it’s not really new. The 2017 Nissan GT-R continues the trend the Japanese car maker has been following this past few years in which they only slightly tweak the product and, having bumped the price, present it as a new model.Still, that’s apparently what GT-R fans want: for the company to so the tune ups they can easily do with aftermarket parts and then charging them a lot of money. In that sense the 2017 Nissan GT-R does not disappoint, boasting a little bit more power – 570 PS and 637Nm of torque – and a refined 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. There is also a new titanium exhaust with Active Sound Enhancement. Nissan has also made some changes to the suspension to make the GT-R more comfortable and less harsh.
In terms of design, there are a fair few changes made to the exterior as well as interior, but you have to be a hard-core Godzilla aficionado to spot them. You get new chrome matte finish “V-motion” grille, a new bonnet, front spoiler lip and front bumper and side air vents next to the quad exit exhaust pipes. These changes are designed mainly to make 2017 Nissan GT-R more aerodynamic. Inside, you find an improved high-quality leather dashboard and a new steering wheel with paddle shifts mounted on the wheel.
That’s about it for the new GT-R in terms of significant upgrades, but you do also get new colors such as “Katsura Orange” shown here. The 2017MY Nissan GT-R launches in autumn.

Official: 2017 Toyota Prius Prime

2017 Toyota Prius Prime 0 600x341 at Official: 2017 Toyota Prius Prime
As the mac daddy of al hybrids, Toyota Prius is burdened to always be the best in this class. It is getting harder and harder as other manufacturers get better at this game, but the Japanese are not going down without a fight. This is the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime, unveiled at the New York Auto Show, showing everybody how it’s done.
Even the name they have given Toyota Prius Prime hints at the car’s claim of superiority over its peers. It’s a bit cocky to call yourself Prime or best, but then again, this Prius has some bold numbers to back up its vanity. The plug-in hybrid has an estimated rating of 120 or above MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) which means it virtually uses no fuel at all, and it can cover 22 miles on electricity alone.
It’s not just the hybrid goodness that sets Toyota Prius Prime apart from the rival. The manufacturer has also spent a great deal of effort on making the Prime a better car. So it gets a new high-strength platform and double-wishbone independent rear suspension, 11.6-inch, HD central multimedia screen with standard navigation and head-up display, and a range of safety gear including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Automatic Braking; Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist; Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with full stop technology and Automatic High Beams.  Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The one feature of the Prius Prime we like is the Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA) which uses ultrasonic wave sensors to size up a parallel parking space and then squeezes itself into it. Just about the only not-so-good thing about the 2017 Prius is the way it looks, but that’s a matter of personal preference.

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 0 600x327 at Official: 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
This year’s New York Auto Show saw the debut of a remarkably good SUV that is getting remarkably little attention. It’s the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV hybrid we’re talking about, a full-size family SUV with great off-road prowess and a sophisticated hybrid system.
The biggest hinderance to the Outlander’s taking the market by storm is the way it looks. Not that it’s ugly or anything, but it’s just not fancy and striking enough for today’s customer’s taste. It doesn’t have the joie de vivre German and Korean cars in this segment boast in spades. What it does have, is a Plug-In Hybrid Electric powertrain and Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system for unmatched versatility.
2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV features a 2.0 liter gasoline engine and two high-performance electric motors backed by a high-capacity 12kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The system offers three modes of EV (full electric mode), series hybrid (electric power with generator operation) and parallel hybrid (engine power and electric motor assistance). Final performance figures will be revealed before the car goes on sale in fall, but you know something this clever is not going to be rubbish.
As for other notable features, the new Outlander PHEV comes with Multi-Around view Camera Monitor, Forward Collision Mitigation with pedestrian detection capability, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and…
