With only 7,260 examples of the breed produced between 1971 and 1992, the De Tomaso Pantera is one highly sought-after brute. Designed by boy wonder Marcello Gandini, the mid-engined exotic is one extremely collectible classic. Elvis Presley had a yellow Pantera, which he shot on numerous occasions over a number of electrical gremlins.

But Elvis has left the building and the Panther we are talking about today isn’t a pristine condition car, but an extremely customized restomod built by the Ringbrothers. Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction event was laden with rare dream garage machines, including a Shelby GT350R Mustang that went for $1 million, but this baby right here is arguably the most interesting vehicle sold by Barrett-Jackson at Scottsdale.

Combining Italian styling with American grunt, the RingBrothers ADRNLN Pantera isn’t powered by a Ford-sourced V8 lump, but a Wegher Motorsport LS3 vee eight pumping out 600 horsepower via a ZF 5-speed transmission upgraded by Bowler Performance. The retro-modern restomod sold for only $300,000, which is mere pennies if you take into consideration the work that was put into it.

The De Tomaso Pantera's signature roar was also enhanced by the Ringbrothers with Flowmaster stainless steel mufflers, while the LS3 powerplant is kept in check by Royal Purple synthetic motor oil. All that power gets put to the ground through a set of HRE Stol 3-piece forged wheels shod in Nitto Invo tires with stopping power coming in the form of big Baer 6-piston calipers front and rear.

Compared to the original, the ADRNLN has been upgraded with subtle design curves inspired from the 2005 Ford GT, including wheel flares and two custom rocker panels with brake cooling ducts. In addition to the aforementioned, the cabin got its share of nip & tuck from Nike (yes, the clothing company!), while the BASF Glasurit 90-Line paint is there to deliver the signature Ringbrothers look.
