While things are tediously quiet in the affordable coupe world, there's a lot of movement going on in the upper segments with newly introduced and upcoming sports coupes like the Mercedes-AMG GT and Maserati Alfieri.
For now and until Renault makes its promise for a new Alpine sports car come true, the French are absent, having other, far more pressing matters to take care of in mainstream categories.
In theory, Citroen, or rather its newly-born DS luxury brand, could give birth to a coupe in the future, possibly as a halo car, but only if everything goes according to plan and the company thrives.
Carscoops reader Sergiy Drornytskyy, a transportation design student at IED, wanted to visualize what a coupe model from DS would look like if the French carmaker used its new design language, as portrayed on the DS Divine sports hatchback concept from the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
"With this concept, I wanted to show my vision for a stylish and cool looking coupe powered by a Citroen V6 for confident people who like design, style and freedom of movement. The main competitors for this car would be the Jaguar F-type and the future Maserati Alfieri," the 23-year old designer from Ukraine told Carscoops.
