Three years since the second-gen Hyundai i30 started production, the C-segment fighter from South Korea just got botoxed. Despite the nice visual add-ons, the biggest news regarding the refreshed i30 comes in the form of a new warm hatch variant and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Slated to go on sale in Europe in early 2015, the Hyundai i30 facelift was spotted by our carparazzi numerous times, including an all-new turbo warm hatch. Regarding the latter, the 2015 Hyundai i30 Turbo boasts with a 1.6-liter T-GDI turbo four-pot mill with 186 PS (183 hp) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft).

You can easily differentiate the normal i30 range from the i30 Turbo three and five-door thanks to some go-faster stylistic cues garnishing its front fascia. Mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission, the 2015 Hyundai i30 Turbo gets to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8 seconds, which is half a second slower than the 2014 Seat Leon five-door with the 1.8 TSI and the six-speed manual gearbox, which churns out 180 horsepower and 249 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque.

With this update, new exterior finishes were added as well: Polar White, Orange Caramel and Jet Black

Regarding the all-new 7DCT seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, Hyundai only offers it on 1.6 turbo diesel and 1.6 petrol GDI powerplants. As for oomph, the least resourceful mill is an all-new 1.4 Kappa petrol motor with 100 PS (98 hosepower) and 134 Nm (98 lb-ft) on tap. Hyundai claims that the new Kappa weighs just 87 kilograms (191 pounds) and returns 50 UK mpg (5.6 liters per 100 kilometers).

Last but not least, the 2015 Hyundai i30 facelift is boasting with a number of fuel saving technologies that come as standard: Integrated Stop & Go (ISG), low rolling-resistance tyres, a drag-reducing ‘active air flap’ mounted in the front grille, as well as an alternator management system (AMS).
