The Finnish manufacturer Toroidion unveiled the 1MW Concept, a purely electric 1341hp supercar, at the 2015 Top Marques show in Monaco.
After a teaser released back in February, the 1MW Concept, named after its power figure -1000kW or 1341hp- uses 4 electric motors which are driving directly each wheel. According to founder Pasi Pennanen, the front axle houses a pair of 200kW (268hp) motors and the rear another pair of 300kW (402hp) ones.
The 2011-founded company also claims that their all-new electric powertrain is able to offer different levels of power for different applications while the batteries of the system are easily swappable “in the pit-lane as it is in the home garage”.
The 1MW Concept features a clean, elegant design with classic proportions and a little bit of retro in it. The hand-built, gull-winged electric supercar is fully road-legal and has been developed entirely in-house in Finland with Toroidion promising to announce more details about its performance “as soon as the tests have been performed”.
