It's going to be available in Japan starting April 21st with prices beginning from 7.16 million yen, making this noticeably cheaper than a V6 model. What's more, lots of equipment will be installed as standard, including the latest 7-speed twin-clutch gearbox, MMI with Audi Connect and full-LED headlights.
The 2.0-liter turbo engine is already familiar, having been introduced in European A7 models about a year ago. However, it's never been available with quattro. The TFSI unit delivers 252 PS while generating maximum torque of 370 Nm. Power is sent to the permanent all-wheel drive system via a 7-speed DCT, which replaced older Lineatronic CVTs.
No performance numbers are available at the moment, but we expect 0 to 100 km/h sprints to take slightly less than 6.9 seconds (what FWD European models achieve).
Three other versions of the A7 facelift are going to be made available in Japan, all quattro models.The A7 3.0 TFSI is the first of them, powered by a 333 PS 3-liter supercharged V6. Both the S7 and RS7 performance models use a 4-liter TFSI twin-turbo setup, but one gets 450 PS, while the other produces 560 PS. The Rennsport model is one of the fastest Audis ever made, but at 17.7 million yen it's nearly one and a half times more expensive than the base A7 that we discovered today.
