Singer Porsche 911 “Virginia” Unveiled

Singer Porsche 911 Virginia 0 600x341 at Singer Porsche 911 “Virginia Unveiled
The latest modernized and reinterpreted classic Porsche 911 to come out of Singer Vehicle Design’s workshops is a 1990 911 Carrera 2 (964 series), affectionately named Virginia. This will be the first Singer Porsche 911 customer car to be showcased at a major Concours event.
As with other Singer Porsche 911 models, the Virginia is a completely rebuilt car with modern underpinnings and a custom body featuring Singer’s now famous design touches. You can’t quite call what Singer does restomoding. It is closer to coach-building, given the man-hours they put in every project, the hand-crafted nature of their cars, and of course, the mahoosive price tags these cars command.
Singer Porsche 911 Virginia features a Cosworth-tuned 3.8 liter boxer engine with 350 horsepower, KW suspension, big brakes, roll-hoop, harness-bar, clip-on rear backrests, raised gold rear PORSCHE letters, as well as the ‘Sport’-looking External Oil and Center-fill Fuel caps. The car looks absolutely beautiful and is full of wonderful little details, which is why nobody would object to the cost of the thing, which is as near as makes no difference half a million dollars.
The Virginia will be showcased at at the third annual Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance, on Saturday, May 2nd, and then in more “intimate” details at various exclusive evening functions including the ‘Chairman’s Dinner’ during the Concours weekend.
“Each machine we work with has its own special touches,” said Rob Dickinson, creative director and founder of Singer Vehicle Design.  “As an example, ‘Virginia’ is the first of the cars we’ve restored that wears the full ‘Touring’ trim on the bumpers and rockers and is the only vehicle to date where a customer has chosen to align an exterior of metallic Fish Silver paint with Sand-Beige interior leather weave – but the true magic really comes alive visually in the ‘checkerboard’-esque look of the interior – we’ve used a slightly lighter suede to create a truly graphic effect.  For us, it’s those nuances, personified by our attention to detail that matter most – because our mantra remains that everything is important.”

Matte Gunmetal Wheels Look Great On This F80 BMW M3

Somebody got it just right with this car, because these wheels were made for a dark-blue exterior and a set of yellow brake calipers. We love it!
When we say "made" we mean it metaphorically of course. But the color contrast is spectacular and even though this isn't one of the most hard-core M3's we've ever seen (no wide-body kit, no chance), it's still one of the most beautiful.
These ADV05 M.V2 wheels measure 20x9 in front and 20x10.5 at the rear and honestly now, they're the perfect size (visually) for a sports sedan this size.
If you go 19", you'll always feel like you could have done better, and if you go 21", it will be just a bit too much.
Other than that, it looks like a regular BMW M3, which is never a bad thing. It's got 431 HP, 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds with the help of the DKG gearbox.
Overall, we'd rather have this M3 over the Kaege-build one we saw earlier this year. Yet there are some (from 3D Design and EAS) that look a bit meaner, wouldn't you agree?

Driven for only 28,000 miles

A rare 1991 BMW 8 Series Coupe by Alpina is up for grabs at Hemmings for $75,000.
One of the only two cars of this kind in United States, this 1991 BMW Alpina E31 B12 5.0 has been imported from Japan and comes with a Diamant Schwarz Metallic paint combined with a Leder Nappa/Schwarz interior. It is powered by the mighty V12 5.0-liter engine developing 350 PS (257 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque.
Back in the day it was able to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 6.8 seconds before topping out at more than 174 mph (280 km/h), not too shabby for a car that's almost a quarter of a century old. This particular vehicle has been driven for only 28,000 miles (45,061 km) and appears to be in top notch condition. If you decide to buy it, we have to warn you the fuel consumption in the city stands at 19.4 liters / 100 km (12.1 mpg US or 14.5 mpg UK), according to Alpina.

Skoda FUNstar is a Fabia pickup concept heading to Worthersee

Skoda FUNstar

Will remain a one-off

Skoda has taken the wraps off the FUNstar, a pickup truck concept based on the third generation Fabia.
Skoda's apprentices are at it again as after last year's Citigo cabrio concept billed CitiJet they have returned with a pickup conversion for the new Fabia supermini. Set to remain a one-off, the FUNstar is heading to next month's Worthersee with 18-inch wheels and a 1.2 TSI engine teamed up with a 7-speed DSG. Initially, the apprentices wanted to squeeze in the 1.8 TSI motor but it was just too big to fit inside the engine bay.
The neon green accents on the alloys can also be seen on the mirror caps, side skirts, front grille surround, LED daytime running lights and also on the lower portions of the bumpers while the neons installed underneath the car remind us of the golden days of NFS. The FUNstar also benefits from a dual-vented hood, LED projectors displaying the company logo while the rear doors were chopped off to make room for the pickup bed made from stainless steel metal. It benefits from a frameless body with reinforcements on the sides as well as a widened B pillar which was necessary to handle the transformation from a hatchback to a pickup truck.
Stepping inside the two-seater cabin, it's fairly standard but has received a 1,400-watt sound system which includes a powerful 200-watt subwoofer. It also boasts a three-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped in leather, a touchscreen infotainment system with support for smartphone connectivity, along with neon green accents and other minor tweaks.
