Car
lovers waited a long time to see the RS version of the new GT3, and it
wasn’t easy because every once in a while a prototype would show up
somewhere in the world, teasing the fans to death. But now that the car
has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show and the dust is settling,
let’s take a closer look at the Porsche 991 GT3 RS.
Here you can view the Porsche 991 GT3 RS
from every angle in the walkaround video and look at its subtle details
to your heart’s content. Granted, there isn’t that many new features
over the regular GT3, but that’s Porsche’s way. It is all about the little details…
Packing a 500 horsepower version of the
GT3’s flat-six engine, the lighter, more aerodynamic Porsche 991 GT3 RS
is designed for those who want the closest thing to a race car which
they can drive on the road. This car, as Porsche puts is, breaks
boundaries and “pushes limits.”
Priced from $175,900, the Porsche 991 GT3
RS comes with a bespoke aero kit tailored for this model consisting of
larger front splitter, wider side sills, rear diffuser with central
tailpipe, ducktail spoiler, and a fixed rear wing. It is only available
with a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and boasts a locking rear
differential. Performance figures are yet to be announced, but outright
performance is not what counts when you are dealing with the RS. It’s
about the way this thing devours the race track.
