Previews next year's production model
After a couple of teasers,
Spanish marque SEAT has introduced the 20V20 concept on the dawn of the 2015
Geneva Motor Show.
“20V20” stands for Vision 2020 and the concept serves as a
preview for SEAT's first ever crossover scheduled to go into production next
year. The mid-size concept is 4.66 meters long and benefits from a 2.79 meter
wheelbase while the ground clearance stands at 22.8 cm. It rides on 20-inch
alloy wheels and has received full LED headlights which gives the concept an “unmistakable
presence.”
The production version will obviously look less exciting
than this 20V20 concept which adopts an appealing design while under the hood
it can accommodate a wide variety of TSI and TDI engines from the Volkswagen
Group which can be paired to a DSG transmission and an "electronically
controlled four-wheel drive."
Seat has already confirmed the production variant will hit the assembly line in 2016 and it will be produced in Czech Republic by Skoda. Based on the MQB platform, the crossover is expected to get a name unrelated to the Leon and it will possibly spawn a hotter Cupra model later during its lifespan.
