40mm longer

Besides bringing the facelifted Auris, Toyota has introduced the 2015 Avensis family at the 85th Geneva Motor Show.
The revised Avensis comes with some subtle styling revisions which make the mid-size model look slightly more upscale thanks to LED headlights & taillights, chrome body accents and slightly tweaked bumpers. Fresh 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels have been added to the range while the overall length has increased by 40mm.
Stepping inside the cabin, there's a redesigned steering wheel with satin chrome accents also noticeable on the updated gear lever. Also new is the instrument binnacle with tubed tachometer and speedometer dials separated by a new 4.2-inch color TFT display. Toyota says NVH levels have been reduced by adding thicker materials for added sound insulation and they also increased the size of the upper backrest to enhance comfort also possible thanks to the redesigned front seats.
The 2.0-liter D-4D has been removed in order to make room for a 1.6 D-4D developing 110 bhp (82 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) which enables the Avensis facelift to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 11.4 seconds and top out at 112 mph (180 km/h). 20 kg lighter than its predecessor, this Euro 6 compliant engine grants the mid-size model with a combined fuel consumption of 68.9 mpg UK (57.3 mpg US or 4.1 liters / 100 km) and CO2 emissions of 108 g/km (down from 119 g/km).
In addition, the 2015 Avensis comes with a newly developed 2.0-liter D-4D (different than the old one) which develops 141 bhp (105 kW) at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) in the 1,750 – 2,500 rpm range. It's enough power to allow the car run the sprint in 9.5 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 124 mph (200 km/h). In this configuration, the facelifted Avensis will return 62.8 mpg UK (52.2 mpg US or 4.5 liters / 100 km) with corresponding CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
Toyota has also updated the 130 bhp 1.6, 145 bhp 1.8 and 150 bhp 2.0-liter gasoline engines which are now more fuel efficient and emit fewer CO2 emissions also helped by the revised Multidrive S (1.8 and 2.0 only) continuously variable transmission.
