Lotus
Cars continues moving forward at a slow and steady pace, doing small
things but doing them right. The new Lotus Evora Sport 410 is a case in
point. It’s a slightly revised version of the Evora that is lightened
and tarted up to become an even better driver’s car.
As the name clearly suggests, Lotus Evora
Sport 410 packs a 410 hp and 410 Nm of torque version of the
supercharged 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine. So extra power is not really
its winning card. That’d be the 70 kg weight loss it has achieved
through the use of carbon fiber components in its build. Tipping the
scale at 1,325 kg, the Evora Sport does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and can
reach a top speed of 186mph.
The main differences between a Lotus
Evora Sport 410 and the regular version, in terms of looks as well as
weight saving measures, include a carbon fibre tailgate (combining five
separate elements into one), new lighter-weight door trim panels and the
liberal addition of carbon fibre across the entire car. But this
doesn’t mean the 410 is a stripped-out track car. The car is still very
civilized for road use.
Other highlights of the Evora Sport 410
include front splitter, roof panel, tailgate, and rear diffuser as well
as race-derived sports seats and a revised front access panel,
Torsen-type limited slip differential (LSD), Lotus’ Dynamic Performance
Management (DPM) with Sport and Race modes, and touch-screen
entertainment system.
