So what we were expecting as the FF Facelift
turned out to be an entirely new model replacing the FF. Announced for
2016 Geneva Motor Show debut, the new car is called Ferrari GTC4 Lusso
and it’s like an FF on steroids.
Maintaining the Shooting Brake style of
the FF, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso features a chiseled and sculpted design with a
lot of details. Some may find the design of this car unnecessarily
busy, what with all the curves and indentations and vents and grilles.
But one thing’s for sure: the Lusso has a much nicer rear-end look than
the outgoing FF.
In terms of dynamics, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso
mixes the company’s previous experience with four-wheel-drive in the FF
and rear-wheel steering in the F12tdf. It has both of them, in addition
to Slip Side Control (4.0), electronic differential (E-Diff) and the
SCM-E dampers. Not to be a hater, but if purity of drive is what you’re
after, just get something else. It is wrapped under too many layers of
computer-controlled nonsense here to show.
That said, the Lusso comes with an
upgraded V12 powertrain that makes so much power, it just can’t not be
exciting. The engine in this car packs 690 horsepower and 697 Nm of
torque which enables this luxury four-seater to accelerate from 0 to 100
 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 335 km/h.
