After the Eagle Speedster, a car most famous for making Jeremy Clarkson swoon on television, and the Eagle Low Drag GT, the British boutique car maker is now announcing the launch of a third model, the Eagle Spyder GT.
Now, at first glance this new Eagle
Spyder GT seems to be pretty much identical to the Speedster. But there
are major differences between the two that makes the GT a lot more
usable and enables the owner to enjoy the exquisite car more. Boasting
the running gear from the Low Drag, the Spyder GT comes with a raked
windscreen and folding roof. These simple changes make a big difference
on how and when you can use the car.
Just like the other two Eagle production,
the Spyder GT is based somewhat loosely on the original 1961 design and
features an all-aluminum construction. The car maker has taken
liberties with the original design, however, honing every line to
perfection in their own words. Each Eagle car is bespoke and
personalized by the owner and they only build a few. That explains why
prices starts from half a million British pound.
Paul Brace, Design Director at Eagle comments: “Development
of the Spyder GT began soon after the launch of the Speedster in 2011
and, like everything we produce, we wanted to ensure that we got as
close to perfection as humanly possible. We’re renowned for being
perfectionists and our clients are too – so we took the time to develop
and deliver an E-Type that stands proud alongside the Speedster and the
Low Drag GT.”
