Ever heard of Holland & Holland? The
company isat the top of the bespoke-firearm food chain, with an
extensive array of exquisite custom-fabricated shotguns and rifles for
the supremely well-moneyed crowd. In fact, H&H holds two Royal
Warrants, allowing it to provide products to royalty. It's quite common
to find an H&H firearm change hands for well over six figures, and
they are well known for their craftsmanship, detailing, and gorgeous
design. It seemed a natural fit, then, forRange Rover andH&H to
partner on aspecial-edition SUV.
This isn't the first time we have seen an H&H Range.
This is, however, the first time we have seen the H&H Edition to
make it over to our shores, as previous versions were sold exclusively
overseas.
Based on the already-opulent, long-wheelbase Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography,
H&H gets to work by creating a host of unique features and
embellishments that befit the partnership. To kick things off, the
H&H Range is draped in the gun maker's signature green color, with
the color extending to the front grille and door handles. Special
Holland & Holland badging is applied to the side vents and the
tailgate.
The real changes are found inside,
where engraved brightwork is distributed around the cabin, including
H&H's signature "acanthis" scroll design. A diamond pattern found on
H&H weapons adorns the dashboard finisher, along with spectacular
French walnut veneers sourced from the same wood found in H&H
firearm stocks. To tie the whole interior together, the H&H Range
features a exclusive espresso-and-tan interior color combo.
Of course,
H&H made sure to slather itslogo over the entirety of the SUV,
including seat stitching, floor mats, luggage cover, and tread plates.
More
useful than fancy trim is perhaps the special deploy-able and locking
leather-trimmed gun case that swallows two H&H boomsticks. The case
can be slid forward onto the lower tailgate for easy access at your
local pheasant hunt.
Want one? Well,
just like H&H's weapons, this special Range doesn't come cheap. For
the ultimate high-brow hunting vehicle, the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover
will set you back$245,495 for the privilege of ownership. If you have
the means, you'd better hurry, as only 30 of these bad boys are coming
to the U.S.
