Roewe Vision R Concept goes official in Guangzhou

Roewe Vision R Concept goes official in Guangzhou

Roewe has revealed the Vision R Concept during the Guangzhou Motor Show, proving Chinese companies can create attractive studies too.
Teased last week, the concept car is taking the shape of a sleek four-door coupe with a distinctive front end, featuring a massive chrome radiator grille and sweptback LED headlights, and a glass roof. LED taillights and chrome diffuser at the back invoke memories of the BMW 7-Series.
The interior is futuristic and minimalistic, featuring a large screen on the fully digital dashboard, as well as another display on the center console controlling the audio and climate systems. The cabin with 2+2 seat configuration has also been equipped with an aircraft-inspired steering wheel, as well as ergonomic seats.
Previewing the future design direction of the brand, the study was also believed to precede the next generation Roewe 750, but now Chinese media is reporting the vehicle will serve as a base for the new 950. The car will use the architecture of the 2017 Buick LaCrosse and most likely its engines, which include the 2.0 turbo with 245 HP (180 kW) and the new 3.6 V6, featuring a cylinder deactivation system and generating 309 HP (227 kW). Both units will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
