Three-row crossover offers class above features across the board.
Mazda has released pricing information for the second-generation 2016 CX-9 three-row crossover, which starts at $32,420 for the base Sport trim. Powering the 2016 CX-9 is a new 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G
turbo-four rated at 227 hp on regular gas (250 hp on premium fuel) and
310 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is the only
gearbox available. Front-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive
is optional on most trim levels.
Stepping up to the $36,870 Touring grade adds blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, HomeLink garage door openers, leather upholstery, keyless entry/start, a power liftgate, an 8-inch touchscreen, and power-operated front seats. The $1,745 Touring Premium package adds navigation, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, LED fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, rear backup sensors, second-row retractable sunshades, SiriusXM satellite radio, a sunroof, and automatic emergency braking.
The Grand Touring
trim adds adaptive headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, aluminum interior
trim, a head-up display, high-beam control, lane departure warning, lane
keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, roof rails, and memory
settings for the driver’s seat. Prices for this model start at $41,070.
On the range-topping Signature trim, the CX-9
comes standard with all-wheel drive. Other features include Auburn
Nappa leather, LED signature grille accent lighting, LED accent lighting
around the automatic shifter, and rosewood trim made by Japanese guitar
maker Fujigen.Fuel economy ratings for the 2016 CX-9 were released earlier this month. Front-wheel-drive variants are rated at 22/28 mpg city/highway while all-wheel-drive models are rated at 21/27 mpg.
