Only three cars were ever made
A very rare Ferrari Thomassima built in 1967 has been listed
on eBay with an eye-watering "buy it now" price of $9 million.
It represents the creation of coachbuilder Tom Meade and
only three of them were ever made, but the first one built in 1962 was destroyed
during the massive floods which hit Florence in 1969. This is the Thomassima II
made in 1967 and there was a third and final car built in 1969 which is now on
a loan at Ferrari's museum in Modena.
Getting back to the car at hand, in these past seven years
it went through an in-depth restoration process and is powered by the same V12
engine that was used on the iconic Ferrari
250 GTO while the design takes cues from the 330 P4 racecar from 1967.
Those looking for an investment can try their luck as the
seller is accepting offers, so you can probably get it for less than the massive $9 million
asking price. According to the listing, the Thomassima II was "fully
restored to original working condition, brand new paint, all original parts
restored to period correct condition."
