Limited to 50 cars
Audi has prepared a limited-run A5 DTM selection which as
the name implies takes cues from the DTM-spec A5.
Taking into account the all-new A5 is set to go on sale
sometime next year, this is one of the last special editions based on the
outgoing model and comes packed with a bunch of DTM, quattro and Audi sport
logos. It wears a Misano Red paint combined with a glossy black look for the
add-on parts mounted in the front, sills and at the back. The redesigned front
apron adopts beefier air inlets featuring a rhombus pattern for the grilles
while the side profile shows 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels with a five
dual-spoke design and wrapped in 265/30 R20 tires.
In terms of power, the Audi A5 DTM selection has a
six-cylinder, 3.0 TDI with 245 PS (180 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque
which ensures a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 5.9 seconds before topping out
at an electronically-limited 155 mph (250 km/h). The engine's output is
channeled to a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed S
tronic gearbox that allows the high-performance diesel coupe consume a relatively
low 6.3 liters / 100 km (37.3 mpg US or 44.8 mpg UK) with corresponding CO2
emissions of 162 g/km.
Once the doors are opened, you'll notice the entry lighting
that projects a DTM logo on the road while the special door sill trims with
Audi Sport lettering denote this is a limited-run A5 Coupe. The highlight of the
interior are the RS5-derived bucket seats with a Misano Red color applied onto
their backrest covers, just like on the door and side trims. Audi used red
stitching for the seats and the leather-wrapped steering wheel which also has
Alcantara and boasts a flattened rim. Rounding off the list of goodies are the
alloy pedals and tinted rear windows.
Audi has plans to make just 50 units of the A5 DTM selection
which at home in Germany begins at €74,540.
