The hot hatch is now bigger, lighter, faster, and more fuel-efficient than ever before. Even with all these extra goodies, the hot hatch receives just a minor price hike of just $195. When the 2015 VW Golf GTI rolls into dealerships this June, it will be priced at $25,215 including destination. That's if you choose the entry-level VW Golf GTI S trim, but if you want the higher-grade SE trim with extras such as keyless entry and leather seats, that will cost $28,215. Both the S and SE come standard with two doors, while the four-door Golf GTI Autobahn model is priced at $30,415. All three come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, though the quick-shifting DSG six-speed dual-clutch automatic is available for an extra $1100. All models come with a longer list of standard features which now includes 10 horses and 51 lb-ft of torque more, a driving mode system, VW Car-Net connected services, touchscreen radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting with LED reading lights, and LED foglights. All this comes on top of already-standard Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel, and heated front seats, just to name a few.

A Performance Package will be offered on the new Golf GTI later this year. The new package includes bigger brakes, a torque-sensing electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and 10 horses more over the regular GTI for $1495. For SE and Autobahn models equipped with this package, an adaptive damping system will also be available later this year.

Despite being slightly larger, the 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI improves in the fuel economy department. Powered by a 210-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 making up to 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, the new Golf GTI achieves 25/34mpg city/highway when equipped with a six-speed manual. Opt for the DSG six-speed dual-clutch automatic and you can expect to see 25/33mpg. Both figures are a substantial improvement over the previous-generation GTI, which was rated 21/31mpg with the manual and 24/32mpg with the DSG. All prices include the $820 destination fee.http://image.motortrend.com/f/wot/1404_2015_volkswagen_golf_gti_gets_more_goodies_priced_at_25215/69634066/2015-volkswagen-golf-gti-interior-from-passenger-side.jpg
