Supercars don't come like this anymore.
Italy is known
for its supercars, but Germany also had its hand in the supercar cookie jar
with the Gumpert Apollo. Its vehicle may have had a face that only a mother
could love, but its performance easily overshadowed its looks and less than noteworthy
history. In 2010, Gumpert created the Apollo Sport and all of the Italian supercar
automakers felt a cold tingle down their spines. Thanks to Charles Pozzi, a
French dealership, one lucky owner can get their hands on one of the best
German supercars every made.
The Apollo Sport
is powered by a 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8 from Audi that was matched to a
sequential six-speed gearbox. With improved cooling, optimized engine control
and new recirculation valves, the Apollo Sport made a whopping 750 hp. The
fastest iteration of the Apollo (the Speed) was able to get to 62 mph in 3.0
seconds and lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 11 seconds. With the
ability to be tuned to the same output as the Apollo Speed, the Apollo Sport could
mimic the Apollo Speed’s times. This blue Apollo Sport only has 6,338 miles on
it and can provide you with a thrill that can’t be found in any other vehicle today.
