As
one of best selling French cars of all time, with over 6.5 million units
sold worldwide, Renault Megane, understandably, goes under the knife a
lot. They have to keep it nice and fresh, but it seems they always stick
with the ‘odd look’ recipe which has worked in favor of the car for the
past 10 or 15 years.
This is the new 2016 Renault Megane
Facelift, and the first impressions upon looking at it is boy, does it
look odd. So that’s a job well done for Renault’s designers. They make
no secret of the fact that this car is heavily inspired by the Talisman,
featuring sculpted shoulders, a massive front grille, and an even more
massive Renault logo. They wanted the car to stand out, and it really
does. the Dimensions have changed though, as the new Megane is 25mm
lower and 47mm wider in front and 39mm wider at the rear compared to the
previous models.
While the standard 2016 Renault
Megane gets the usual dose of styling bling like chrome grille, the side
badges and door handles, there is a new GT model available from launch
boasting sportier features. The main highlights of the Megane GT include
broader air intakes, honeycomb grille, two chromed tailpipes,
F1-inspired front spoiler, “Renaultsport” badging at the rear, on the
wings and at the front. This model also gets 18-inch wheels and “Iron
Blue” paintwork with “Dark Metal”.
