Developed, built and sold in China
Dongfeng Citroën has
released preliminary details and images of their new C4 Sedan set to premiere
tomorrow at the Chengdu Motor Show.
Looking rather Volkswagen-ish,
the new three-box compact sedan tailored to the Chinese market has been
developed locally where it will be exclusively available. At 4.55 meters in
length, the new model serves as a replacement for the C-Quatre
and will be slotted between the C-Elysee and C4 L. It will be assembled
in
Wuhan and represents a very important model for Dongfeng Citroën since
its predecessor accounted for 30% of the joint venture's sales last
year.
Technical details
about the model are scarce at this moment, but Citroën's Chinese arm
says it
will be powered by a newly developed three-cylinder turbocharged
gasoline
engine producing 130 PS (95 kW) sent to the front wheels through a
manual gearbox or an optional automatic transmission. Inside the
"spacious and comfortable" cabin will be a
standard touchscreen display along with handsfree start & access as
well as
a blind spot monitoring system.
More details should
be provided in the coming days following the C4 Sedan’s debut tomorrow at the
2015 Chengdu Motor Show.
