Looks very German

Borgward is officially back in business with the BX7 crossover which unsurprisingly looks very German, but with a Buick grille.
With some changes to the front grille, this could be easily mistaken for an Audi as Borgward wants to show its German roots even though the name is now in fact owned by China-based Foton Motor.
We don't have any official details to go with this single image, but recently we’ve learned the BX7 is going to be offered with an array of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, although specifics are not known at this point.
The company's official website has a countdown for the model’s launch which will take place in about four days from now at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
[update]
Auto Bild has managed to obtain technical details and it seems the crossover is 4.7 meters long and will be able to carry up to seven people. Upon launch it will be offered with a 224 PS 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine teamed up with a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox sending power to a four-wheel drive system equipped with an electronically-controlled multi-plate clutch provided by BorgWarner.
Also at IAA there's going to be a plug-in hybrid derivative featuring a combined output of 401 PS thanks to the same combustion engine teamed up with an electric motor and a battery pack capable of providing a maximum electric range of 55 km (34 miles). This one too has a four-wheel drive version, only this time the conventional motor drives the front wheels whereas the electric motor powers the rear axle.
In terms of practicality, the BX7 can work as a five-, six- or a seven-seater and will offer up to 1,344 liters of storage space if the rear seats are folded. It gets a 12.3-inch infotainment system providing support for Wi-Fi hotspot and smartphone connectivity while on the safety side there’s going to be a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, braking assistant with pedestrian protection and a collision assistant.
Initially, the Borgward BX7 will be available in China and emerging markets starting 2016, but Europe will also get the crossover later on. According to preliminary data, the vehicle will carry a standard price tag of around €26,000 in Germany.
