While it took the company a little longer than expected, they said it is just one of several VUHLs destined to hit the streets of Mexico this year. The company also plans to begin deliveries to the Middle East - including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates - in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Following the Middle East launch, the model will eventually arrive in the United Kingdom where it will be priced from £59,995.
According to VUHL Technical Director Iker Echeverria, “We are obviously extremely happy to have entered full-scale production with our 05 model, and experienced the delight of our first customer. 2014 was a consolidation year for us, during which we concentrated on appointing dealers, obtaining homologation in various countries and taking orders from around the world. We are now ready to sell the car in earnest.”
As a refresher, the 05 features a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that develops 285 bhp (212 kW). It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the 695 kg (1532 lb) sports car to accelerate from 0-60 mph time in 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 150 mph (241 km/h).
