On sale late this year
A couple of red Acura NSX pre-production prototypes have
been caught on camera by reddit user Theodoros9.
Feast your eyes on these five pics showing an NSX duo with the
same paint scheme as the show
car from NAIAS where Acura unveiled the second generation in production
form. However, we only have partial
information about the car’s technical specifications as Honda’s premium marque
still hasn’t disclosed all the juicy details about their long-awaited supercar.
We do know for sure it has a twin-turbo
V6 3.5-liter engine working together with three electric motors as part of
the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system generating a
total output “north of 550 horsepower.” We also know it will get 19-inch front
& 20-inch rear wheels with 245/35Z R19 front and 295/30Z R20 rear
tires backed by carbon ceramic brakes with six-piston front &
four-piston rear calipers. Acura promises it will have roughly the same price as the Audi R8 ($115,900 in U.S.) and promises
to offer "zero delay" launch performance.
Speaking of launch, Acura will commence production of the
model this fall so complete specifications should be disclosed in the following
weeks. There might be a track package later on and even a Type R version, but
at this pace, who knows when these will be out.
