Designed for those who may find the regular Beetle a tad too discreet and understated, Volkswagen Beetle Dune
was introduced a while back featuring design cues borrowed from ‘Baja
Bugs’ of the yesteryear. The order books will open for this car in the
UK from April 5 with prices starting at £21,300.
Available in Coupe and Cabriolet body
styles, the rugged looking Volkswagen Beetle Dune with its raised ride
height, 18-inch ‘Mythos’ alloy wheels, front and rear wheelarch
extensions and bold new bumper designs launches in the UK with a choice
of two engines. You get a a 105 PS 1.2-litre petrol TSI which is
terribly weak, or a 150 PS 2.0-litre TDI which isn’t much better, but at
least gets you to sixty in under ten seconds.
But you don’t buy a Volkswagen Beetle
Dune for the performance. You buy it for the looks and features. You get
exclusive colors like Sandstorm Yellow metallic and Dark Bronze
metallic, large silver-framed central air inlet and a black honeycomb
grille, stylized skirts and running boards, Turmeric’ stitching on the
sport seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel, and contrasting colors. A
Composition Media system with 6.5-inch touch-screen, Bluetooth and USB
is standard.
