This Mint 1969 NSU Ro80 Looks Enticing

As far as old German cars go, the Ro80 and NSUs in general are pretty weird, at least to look at. They’re renowned for using Wankel rotary engines, as well as many unique technical innovations, most of which can be found in the Ro80 – a superb example is currently [ed. note: bidding ending without a sale as the reserve was not met]  listed on eBay in Saint Louis, Missouri.

It looks to be in immaculate condition, and judging by the cleanliness of the engine bay, it’s most likely been restored. There’s not a blemish in sight, either on the outside, underside or inside.

The engine powering it is a twin-rotor Wankel displacing 995cc and putting out 113 hp. Shifting (the three) gears is very similar to the semi-automatic setup you have in a Citroen DS, with the exception that it has a torque converter that’s actuated by a servo motor.

The metallic lime green paint is actually a special factory color, says the seller (a classic cars dealer).
