After all, a proper flagship should display the latest in technology.
Although it’s still a couple years off, some details are beginning to emerge regarding the next generation Lexus LS. The current flagship of Toyota’s
luxury division isn’t exactly exciting, but it does have a certain
appeal for those looking for a big, premium, reliable daily driver. Its
German-built competitors, such as the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class have typically been more cutting-edge technology wise, but that may soon change.

According to Lexus
Enthusiast, who picked up the information from a Japanese source, the
next Lexus LS will be a Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) powered partly by
hydrogen. Basically, the recently introduced Toyota Mirai FCV is just
the start of a new era of powertrain technology for the Japanese
automaker. The next LS would be the ideal technological follow-up to the
unexciting Mirai. It’s definitely intriguing and Toyota, unlike its
German rivals, has invested heavily in hydrogen fuel cell technology.
What better way to show this off than on a flagship luxury sedan.
