WASHINGTON — The 2015 Chrysler 200 earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Chrysler 200 received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.
The rating applies to the front-wheel-drive version of the Chrysler 200.
Chrysler's 2015 200 with all-wheel drive has a partial rating at this point, but no overall rating. The Chrysler 200 with all-wheel drive received five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 is on sale now at Chrysler dealerships.
Standard safety equipment on the Chrysler 200 includes eight airbags, including driver and passenger knee airbags, electronic stability control, antilock brakes, traction control and brake assist. Forward Collision Warning-Plus is an optional feature that provides autonomous braking and, under certain circumstances, slows or brings the vehicle to a full stop when a frontal collision appears imminent, according to Chrysler.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the 2015 Chrysler 200 a 2014 Top Safety Pick+ honor, after it earned "good" scores in all crash tests.
Key competitors to the Chrysler 200 include the Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
