First model after five decades

Borgward is back in the car industry after more than fifty years of absence and their first product is this BX7 crossover detailed in a couple of presentation videos.
Judging solely by how it looks, many would be tempted to believe the BX7 is based on an existing German crossover, but in reality it was engineered from the ground up by Borgward in collaboration with parent company Foton Motor from China where the model will be built. It's 4.7 meters long and has a maximum cargo capacity of 1,344 liter if the second and third rows of seats are folded down.
Stepping inside the cabin, it can carry up to seven people and appears to be a decent effort with good materials, leather upholstery along with a modern infotainment system incorporating a 12.3-inch touchscreen display from where the driver will access most of the car's functions, including the Android and iOS device connectivity support. There's also a generously-sized digital display in the instrument cluster and it's being flanked old fashioned dials.
Under the hood there's going to be a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 224 PS (165 kW) and 300 Nm (222 lb-ft) channeled to a 4WD system through a dual-clutch gearbox. It will be able to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than ten seconds before topping out at more than 124 mph (200 km/h).
A beefier hybrid version will team up the same combustion engine with an electric motor to enable a combined power of 401 PS (295 kW) while the battery pack will have enough energy for up to 34 miles (55 km) when running solely on electric power.
The Borgward BX7 will initially go on sale in China, but later on it will travel to the old continent.
