It was during the Oscars when we first saw the face of the new 2016 Cadillac CT6.
Now at the New York Auto Show the car gets unveiled in all its official
glory, revealing a new flagship Caddy featuring a cool design, advanced
 technologies, and decent power.
The design of the new car is typical
Caddy, what with the large front grille, unique headlights, and simple
and straight lines from there backwards. That is not a criticism.
Cadillac has find a good corporate look and they are sticking with it.
In fact, we think the 2016 Cadillac CT6 looks refreshingly different
from the established cars in this class.
Occupying the same sort of footprint on
the ground as a BMW 7 Series, the CT6 is a large and comfortable car,
and the designers have taken advantage of the size to make a plush
interior. Besides the usual dose of exotic material such as leather,
wood, and carbon you get in the cabin of every luxury model, the CT6
also features a 10.2-inch 720p display featuring an updated version of
the not so brilliant CUE system, touch sensitive controls, and a superb
new steering wheel and gear lever, as well as wireless smartphone charge
 and 4G LTE.
Engine-wise, 2016 Cadillac CT6 comes with
a 2.0 liter turbo engine with 260 hp in the base model, and a 3.6 liter
330 hp V6 in the mid-range version. They are both hooked up to an
eight-speed automatic transmission. The range-topping CTS gets a new 3.0L Twin Turbo V6
engine developing 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The car also
boasts Active Rear Steer, Magnetic Ride Control and selectable drive
modes to it can hold its own against the German rivals in terms of ride
and handling.
