It took a while, but Jon Olsson’s team of designers and mechanics have finally done working on his new toy, the Audi RS6 DTM,
and it’s ready in time for the Gumball 3000 rally. Easily the most
crazy Audi we have ever seen, Olsson’s RS6 is heavily inspired by DTM
race car.
Jon Olsson, as you know, is a huge car
nut and likes to mix his love of motoring with his passion and
profession as a pro skier. So like most other cars he’s commissioned so
far, Audi RS6 DTM features a roof box in which he can safely stew away
his gear. The cool thing about this bespoke box is that it is designed
to be part of the car’s Caresto DTM body kit.
The rest of the kit includes massive,
verging on ridiculous, wide wheel arches, huge aero parts including
front splitter and rear diffuser, as well as all sorts of wings and
spoilers and winglets. Basically, is a body panel could handle a wing,
they’ve given it one. This begs the question how practical is this car,
taking into account Jon’s tendency to hit the slopes in it. The whole
thing is wrapped in an Olsson-designed film made by Wrapzone.
In terms of performance, Jon’s Audi
RS6 DTM features a STM Stage 3 engine upgrade with 56Nord carbon box,
TTE 18 carat gold anodized turbo chargers, plus Miltek exhaust system.
The result of these mods is 900+ horsepower, which is contained through
the use of Movit Big brake, Intrax race suspension, and a set of large
ADV1 wheels wrapped with high-performance rubber.
