Official: Aston Martin Vantage GT8

Aston Martin Vantage GT8 0 600x398 at Official: Aston Martin Vantage GT8
Aston Martin dropped today the first pictures and details of the latest hard-core Vantage, the GT8. Inspired by Vantage GTE race car, the new Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is the lightest and most powerful V8 Vantage ever.
You know what that means, don’t you? No comfort at all, a massive and fairly ridiculous aero kit, and edgy performance. Those are the drawbacks, but then again, if you want something soft get the normal V8 model. Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is for those who want a serious track weapon but are fed up to the back teeth by GT3 Porsches.
Powered by a new version of the old 4.7 liter V8 engine, Aston Martin Vantage GT8 packs 446 horsepower delivered to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or seven-speed Sportshift paddle-shifter. The “no nonsense” Vantage, as Aston calls it, the GT8 is also much more aerodynamic than its regular sibling thanks to a front splitter, front and rear bumpers, fenders, side sills and rear diffuser, all made from carbon fiber.
The carbon kit and new ultra-lightweight seven-spoke centre-lock magnesium rims, plus standard-fit lightweight carbon fibre sports seats and carbon door panels, make the GT8 100kg lighter than the last lightest Vantage, the effect of which is more savage performance and better handling. Still, the car is no stripped-out racer, as it comes with Air-conditioning, a 160w audio system and Aston Martin’s latest AMi III infotainment system.
Limited to 150 units and starting at £165,000, Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is available in  three optional ‘Halo‘ paint schemes: China Grey and Blue, Stratus White and Green or Stirling Green and Lime.
