Cardi 442 Is An Aston Martin DB9 In Russian Clothing

It’s been honorably discharged after a long and distinguished service, but the DB9 remains an inspiration for new projects.
The latest is named Concept 442 and comes from an unlikely location: Russia.
Cardi, a design studio that was founded in 1991 and has churned out some concepts before working for other large Russian companies, is behind this one – and it claims it does have a plan.
Work has already begun by disassembling a DB9 coupe in its workshop. If not for the image, we’d have a hard time imagining what lies beneath that body, especially as it’s not just a reskin with a full-length sunroof.
No, Cardi is going to the trouble of removing the donor car’s B-pillars to give it its own distinct identity. One could say its lines are reminiscent of a luxury yacht, something that goes for the completely redesigned interior, too, what with the large swathe of wood and thin-rimmed steering wheel.
There's no word on any changes in the powertrain or when, and where, the concept is going to be launched, only that it will be a very limited run.
