Cadillac’s upcoming answer to the BMW M4 will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter 3.6-liter V6 with 450 hp.
GM’s luxury brand set out to decimate the BMW M3 and M4 and its first swing comes in coupe form with the aforementioned horsepower, 445 lb-ft of torque and the choice between either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic ostensibly cribbed from the Corvette.
The news comes from an article in the upcoming print edition of Road & Track, which also says the new ATS-V Coupe weighs roughly 3,600 lbs. That puts in on par pound-for-pound with the M4, but with an extra 25 hp and 39 lb-ft of torque to play with.
A stiffer suspension than what you would find in the normal ATS Coupe is also included along with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Optionally, there is also a performance package that adds aerodynamic pieces to the body that generate 100 lbs of downforce at 150 MPH.
The official debut will take place in the evening on Tuesday, November 18, ahead of the first press preview day at the L.A. Auto Show.
