Deliveries start in August
The Clio
Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC is now available on order in United Kingdom
from £21,780.
It will make its UK
debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 25-28) where it will bring its
extra 20 bhp (15 kW) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) of power provided by the uprated 4-cylinder 1.6-liter
turbocharged gasoline engine that can now deliver a total of 220 bhp (164 kW) and
260 Nm (192 lb-ft). There's an extra 20 Nm available in fourth and fifth gears
when the Torque Boost feature is engaged.
To the disappointment
of many, the engine is paired exclusively to an Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC)
gearbox which has been tweaked by Renaultsport's engineers to deliver up to 50%
quicker shifts while the shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel now have a
30% shorter travel. Compared to the standard model, the hot hatch is 20 mm lower
at the front and 10 mm at the back and rides on 18-inch "Radical" wheels shod in Michelin
Pilot Super Sport 205/40 R18 tires.
It's available with
an exclusive Frost White paint along with other regular hues such as Deep
Black, Liquid Yellow, Flame Red and Glacier White. Standard equipment includes R-Link
infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display, TomTom LIVE sat-nav,
automatic climate control, rearview camera, start/stop button, automatic
headlights & wipers, cruise control, electric windows, DAB radio as well as
heated folding side mirrors and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
At an additional cost, the model can be optionally
configured with heated leather-wrapped Trophy sports seats (£1,600) and
the Renaultsport Monitor V2 (£295) on-board telemetry system
featuring five different levels of throttle pedal sensitivity.
Renault UK has announced plans to commence deliveries of the
