One of the last made
A mint condition 1988 Lamborghini Jalpa is up for grabs at Hyman
Ltd. for a cool $115,000.
Most people associate the Lamborghini of the 80s with the
legendary Countach, but during the same decade there was also the Jalpa
designed by none other than Bertone. Approximately 410 units were ever produced
and this is one of the last ever made before new owners Chrysler decided to
pull the plug due to declining sales.
Power comes from a V8 3.5-liter engine developing 255 bhp
(190 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 225 lb-ft (305 Nm) at 4,000 rpm channeled to the
wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The Jalpa weighs 3,329 lbs (1,510
kg) and back in the day it needed six seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) before topping
out at 145 mph (234 km/h).
This targa-topped black Jalpa in US-spec has been driven for
only 25,378 miles (40,840 km) and recently received newer front tires, along
with revisions to the exhaust manifold and ignition wires. On the inside it has
black leather seats combined with tan door panels and carpets. The previous
owner was a car mechanic who kept a package that came bundled with the car and
included a parts manual as well as the original warranty booklets.
