2016 Toyota Land Cruiser (US-spec)
Looking virtually identical to the Japanese variant, the US-spec model features a new front fascia with a modified bumper, a revised grille and restyled headlights. The SUV also has a bulging hood, additional chrome trim and restyled 18-inch alloy wheels. Other notable changes include a new rear bumper and modified taillights.
In the United States, the Land Cruiser comes fully loaded and isn't available with any options or packages. As a result, buyers will be treated to a number of high-end amenities including semi-aniline perforated leather seats, heated / ventilated front seats and Deep Wood trim. The model also has a Smart Key keyless entry system, a push button ignition and a redesigned center console. There's also higher quality materials, a four-zone automatic climate control system, a Qi wireless smartphone charger and an upgraded Entune infotainment system with a 9-inch display. Last but not least, there's a new heated multi-function steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a HomeLink system.
On the safety front, the SUV has Frontal Collision Avoidance, Frontal Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Alert and Auto High Beams. There's also Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, a Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a rearview camera.
Power is provided by a 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 381 bhp (284 kW) and 401 lb-ft (543 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a new eight-speed automatic transmission which helps to improve acceleration and fuel efficiency. Speaking of the latter, the Land Cruiser has an EPA rating of 13 mpg city / 18 mpg highway / 15 mpg combined.
