V6 and V8 power on the menu in company's new hardtop offering
Lexus has just released pricing for the all new RC Coupe lineup, which is arriving in dealerships now. The all-new RC range represents the company's first all-new coupe in 15 years, following the replacement of the first-generation SC 300 and SC400 coupes with the second-generation retractable metal roofed SC 430 cars. According to Lexus, RC stands for Radical Coupe. This new offering occupies a slightly different place than the second-generation SC in the company's stateside lineup. The RC is meant to be much more of a volume seller than the SC was, hence the new name and a new segment aim.The base model in the range is the rear wheel drive RC 350, which is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The RC 350 will start at $43,715, while an all-wheel drive version with the same powerplant will start at $45,950. The RC 350 Coupe will of course offer a number of optional package groups, with the Luxury Package adding $2,700 to the starting price of the AWD model. For that, buyers will receive heated and ventilated front seats, a blind spot monitor with rear-cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing wipers, 19-inch wheels, a power moonroof, and a spoiler, among other items. Another popular optional package will likely be the Navigation Package at $1,530, which will offer Lexus Enform Destinations, a DVD player, and a number of convenience features like a blind spot monitoring system. The RC 350 will also be available with a Premium Package priced at $800 for the AWD model.
The
RC 350 and RC F will offer the standard suite of features and luxury
options, like heated and ventilated seats, with most found in other
Lexus cars.
An even sportier version will be the 467-hp RC F model (not to be confused with the F Sport trim level for the RC 350). Unlike the junior model in the range, the RC F will be offered in rear-wheel drive form only, and will ditch the V6 in favor of a 5.0-liter V8. The RC F will start at $63,325 for the 2015 model year, and will offer a Navigation Package for an additional $1,760, and the Premium Package for an extra $4,400. The latter will include items like carbon fiber interior trim, blind spot and parking assist, heated and ventilated front seats, and LED headlights. The All-Weather package, complete with a heated steering wheel, a windshield-wiper deicer, and a high-intensity heater will be a relative bargain at an extrra $280.
