Details and photos of the new Jaguar F-Type SVR coupe and cabriolet have been published prior to the car’s official debut.
The photos and details seen here of the new range-topping F-Type were published by Autoblog.nl and Autovisie after a German dealer made the car’s brochure public ahead of its formal unveiling.
According to the leaked brochure
(in German, naturally), the new F-Type SVR’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8
has a 423kW of power available at 6500rpm and 700Nm of torque between
3500 and 5000rpm.
Equipped with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic,
the F-Type SVR is said to be good for a 0-100km/h time of 3.7 seconds.
The coupe is capable of a top speed of 322km/h, while the cabriolet
maxes out at 313km/h.
By way of comparison, the F-Type R AWD extracts 404kW/700Nm from the
company’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8, and can do the 0-100km/h sprint in
4.1 seconds (0.4 seconds slower) and has a top speed of 300km/h.
Under EU testing guidelines, the F-Type SVR is said to drink 11.3L/100km in the combined highway and city cycle.
Externally, the SVR is distinguished from its brethren by a new aero
kit featuring a prominent boot-mounted carbonfibre spoiler that’s pops
up automatically when required. The SVR rides on charcoal grey 20-inch
alloy wheels.
Weight savings come courtesy of forged aluminium wheels, which help
the SVR shed 10 kilograms, and a titanium exhaust system, that’s said to
liberate another 12kg. The SVR’s optional ceramic brakes brings a
further 21kg in savings.
All up, the SVR coupe and cabrio tip the scales at 1705kg and 1720kg,
respectively. That’s down from R AWD, which weighs 1730kg as a coupe
and 1745kg in cabrio form.
