If
you are dismayed by how easy the new generation of hard-core Porsche
911s are to drive and want something a bit more… manly, we have good
news. A daisy fresh 2008 Porsche 997 GT2 has become available for sale
at Hoefnagels showroom, and it has some juicy specs.
Priced at €184,500, this yellow Porsche 997 GT2 is more than a 100 grand cheaper than a new 991 GT3 RS
and about three times more terrifying to drive. But that’s a good
thing. The fear factor is what attracts Porsche enthusiasts to the GT2
series, and the 997 has that in spade. What we have here is a 3.6 liter
530 horsepower rear-wheel-drive version of the Turbo with a manual
gearbox and not much in the way electronic overlords.
The yellow finish on this car may lead
some people to mistake it for a GT3, but there is a prominent GT2 badge
at the back for clarification, and GT2-spec wing and bumper as well.
What’s more, this Porsche 997 GT2 has exclusive 19 inch wheels and a
custom interior featuring leather and Alcantara upholstery, carbon
bucket seats, SportChrono package as well as PCM infotainment, air con,
yellow stitching and dashboard trim, yellow seatbelt, yellow floor mat
edges, but red instrument dials which is a bit odd.
