Mercedes Citan gains an improved petrol engine & new features

Mercedes has announced yet another round of updates to the Citan.
Since we already covered the diesel engines improvements earlier this year, we'll jump right into the updated Citan 112 which features an improved 1.2-liter petrol engine that now develops 114 PS (84 kW) and up to 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque.The latter figure is available in the second, third and fourth gear for up to 20 seconds.
The Citan 112 will also be available with a new 6G-DCT dual clutch transmission which promises to combine the "economy of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic."
Besides featuring an updated petrol engine, the Citan lineup boasts a number of minor changes including an updated instrument cluster, a redesigned hand brake lever and a new handle on the inside of the tailgate which makes it easier to close.

BMW M4 GTS debuts in Tokyo with 500 PS

BMW has unveiled the new M4 GTS in Tokyo.
Designed to be the ultimate driving machine, the M4 GTS has an aerodynamic body kit that includes an adjustable front splitter, a new hood and a carbon fiber rear wing.  The model also has a carbon fiber diffuser, a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic trunk lid and a titanium exhaust system.  Other highlights include LED headlights, OLED taillights and exclusive M light-alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as designers added an Alcantara-wrapped sport steering wheel and carbon-fiber bucket seats (M sports seats in North America) which are upholstered in exclusive Alcantara and Merino leather. The M4 GTS also has three-point seat belts, a lightweight center console and pull loops that replace the door handles. The rear seat has also been removed and replaced by a glass-fiber-reinforced plastic shelf and a rear panel this is covered in Alcantara.
Power is provided by an upgraded 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine - with water injection technology - that produces 500 PS (368 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque.  It is connected to a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) which enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 305 km/h (189.5 mph).

Possible 2016 Porsche 911 R spied for the first time

Our spies have sent us a batch of images depicting what could very well be the rumored Porsche 911 R.
Lately we’ve been hearing rumors concerning a “pure” version of the Porsche 911 and this could actually be it, but don’t get too excited as apparently it’s already sold out. The model is said to be based on the GT3 version but without the rear wing and this prototype also seems to have a slightly different rear diffuser. The retro-flavored design seems to match that render we posted earlier this month, so there are enough reasons to believe that Porsche has another 911 version on the agenda to join the already extensive lineup.
Power will come from the same 6-cylinder 3.8-liter normally aspirated engine with 475 PS (349 kW) and 438 Nm (324 lb-ft), but this time it will be teamed up with a manual transmission unlike the 911 GT3 which uses a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox to send the engine’s power to the rear axle. A weight loss is also planned, so the R version should lose a few kilos compared to the standard version which tips the scales at 1,430 kg (3,152 lbs).
The Porsche 911 R is expected to come out sometime next year to celebrate the original 911 R’s 50th anniversary and only 600 units will ever be made at a price tag that will obviously surpass the 911 GT3.

It's Official: 2017 Acura NSX Has 573HP, Hits 191 MPH


Acura has finally revealed technical specifications of its all-new 2017 NSX hybrid supercar and chances are you won’t be disappointed. The all-new bespoke twin-turbocharged, longitudinally mounted V6 3.5-liter V6 is rated at 500hp at 6,500-7,500 rpm and 406lb-ft (550Nm) between 2,000 and 6,000 rpm.
But that’s only half of the story, as the conventional gasoline engine is assisted by a Twin Motor Unit (TMU) which drives the front wheels, rated at 72hp and 108 lb-ft (146Nm) of torque. At the rear, the gasoline engine is helped by a Rear Direct Drive Motor, mounted between the V6 unit and the 9-speed dual clutch transmission, which produces 47hp and 109lb-ft (148Nm) of torque.
As a result, total system power of the 2017 Acura NSX is 573hp – 500hp from the V6 engine and 73hp from the front TMU. Acura estimates that the hybrid supercar can reach a top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h), but acceleration figures haven’t been released yet. Fuel economy ratings are yet to be announced.
While the all-aluminum supercar’s curb weight of 3,803 lbs (1,725 kg) may not impress you, it’s a remarkable result considering the high level of technology the NSX packs – let’s not forget it has three electric motors on board, plus a lithium-ion battery pack.

The NSX Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) integrates all of the vehicle’s dynamic chassis and powertrain systems - steering, brakes (mechanical and electro-servo), throttle, vehicle stability assist, magnetorheological dampers, engine, transmission, and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD control systems.
IDS provides the driver with four selectable dynamic modes (Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track). Quiet mode favors electric-only driving at lower speeds, maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing cabin sound. In this mode, the V6 engine is limited to 4,000 rpm. Sport mode is the default setting in normal vehicle operation – it eliminates the 4,000 rpm limit on the engine and provide a more aggressive throttle map for quicker response.
Sport+ enables a maximum drivetrain response and dynamic performance with faster up- and down-shifts of the 9 DCT and still more aggressive throttle mapping. Finally, Track mode is optimized for circuit driving, using the most aggressive settings and parameters to deliver the fastest and most consistent lap times possible.
